Rise and Fall by Char Cee
Char Cee a unique and spirited painter. “As an “on location” painter, I image the world around me into abstract plein-air paintings. My passionate ability to convey feelings and emotions into abstract landscapes, flowers, and people have made me one of the more interesting and innovative artists in San Diego."

My philosophy is that any art form should set off the viewer's feelings that have been hidden away. With the wind in my hair and the sun on my face, the artwork takes its own course – driven by the environment.

Oceanside Art Gallery is located at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive, Ste 103, Carlsbad. , www.oceansideartgallery.com, 760-845-9017

The Foundry Studios at New Village Arts Presents "Impressions/Expressions"

The exhibition IMPRESSIONS/EXPRESSIONS by featured artist, Donna Butnik is being hosted by the Foundry Studios at New Village Arts on April 28th, 2011 between 5:30pm - 9pm

Located at 2787 Street the evening will be filled with art, music by Hello Trouble and a reception, to be enjoyed by all.
Stop by and visit the contemporary artist Donna Butnik who paints deeply spiritual scenes that are inspired by both her dreams and the natural world around her, drawing on symbolic imagery and playfully manipulating compositional conventions.Ms. Butnik’s paintings are celebrations  of intuition and tenacity of the soul.

Her work incorporates mythological figures, the beauty of nature and a playful spirit to produce images of joy.  Fantastical animals, angelic characters, bright flowers and ethereal landscapes transport the viewer to the fanciful world of daydreams.

Much like a dream, Ms. Butnik’s subjects feel both otherworldly and familiar, both capricious and grounded.   The use of mixed media also heightens the sense of whimsey in her scenes, with strong lines juxtaposed against fields of luminescent color.

So don't miss the exhibition and view all the artist by the artists that create at the Foundry Studios and have a wonderful time.

ABOUT THE NEW VILLAGE ARTS FOUNDRY:
The Art Foundry was established in August of 2009 by New Village Arts Theatre in the Village of Carlsbad. Housing 14 working artists’ studios with 16 artists in residence, The Foundry has become a unique, interesting and exciting place to create and view art and the process of making art.

A foundry is a place where things are forged, made and created. It is a place where things begin as raw materials and are transformed into something else, which is the basis of all art.
